Healthcare Science Week

14 to 20 March 2022

Healthcare Science Week provides an opportunity for the NHS to tell their local community and other health professionals first-hand about how science and technology is vital in modern patient care and changes lives for the better.

It's also an invaluable opportunity for existing healthcare science staff to inspire the next generation of healthcare science staff.

At Aergo Health, we love learning about exciting new developments bringing together scientific expertise and knowledge of new technologies into the NHS to help patient care including the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions, and helping patients live independent lives through rehabilitation.

We very much enjoyed this series of interviews from Healthcare Science professionals at Cambridge University Hospitals showcasing some of the work of Healthcare Scientists within the NHS.

Over 60,000 Healthcare Scientists work in the NHS and public health in over 50 specialties within life sciences, physiological sciences, bioinformatics, and medical physics and clinical engineering.

This is approximately 5 percent of the NHS workforce.

We were amazed to read that Healthcare Scientists affect the vast majority of patient pathways and inform more than 80 percent of all clinical decisions.
